Les Liards is an excellent place for visiting the Auvergne: it is in the middle of most of the tourist sites. Volcanoes (you even sleep on one at Liards), large and wide views, roman churches, cluny heritage, knife handicraft, musea, castles, Gergovie (where Ceasar lost from Vercingétorix), hidden France with rural villages et authentic markets, la Chaise Dieu, Issoire, Ambert, Thiers, Puy en Velay, Clermont Ferrand... there is to much to see and to do!
